Student Club

The University Student Club is an independent service housed in a private building situated on the eastern side of the campus. On the premises of the Student Club building there is a refectory, a medical service, a reading room, a snack bar, and a hairdresser’s shop. The Student Club is responsible for the catering, accommodation, and medical care of the students in the Aristotle University and the University of Macedonia. It also supports the organization of artistic, cultural and sports events, and it has a music department and a choir.
Presently, it caters for approximately 12,000 students, and it also has two small A.U.Th. staff refectories. The Student Club building also houses the music department and a photography club. Catering services are provided to eligible students based on certain conditions and after submission of the relevant documents.
The Student Club is upgraded through the extension of its premises, the renovation of existing facilities, and the application of the HACCP system (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) under the supervision and monitoring of the Food Control Authority. HACCP is a system that ensures the production of safe food, through the identification of those points that include a potential physical, chemical or biological hazard.
On the Student Club premises there is also a Counselling and Psychiatric Service that provides its services free of charge to all students by appointment throughout the academic year (September-June) every Monday and Thursday 9.00-11.00.
