“IASON” Programme

“IASON” is a programme aiming at supporting Greek Studies Courses offered in Black Sea countries – or the establishment of small Greek Studies departments.

Until 1990, only a few universities of the Black Sea region offered such courses. After this critical landmark, there is an unprecedented demand for Greek language courses.

In the eight years of its life, “IASON” achieved all its objectives: A.U.Th. identified universities for cooperation, it organized some preliminary visits to these universities, and signed interuniversity agreements with a number of these, where Greek Studies Departments were established.
